Mechanical, Utility & Piping Engineering
Our largest discipline by project volume. FTS engineers complete bulk material handling systems for mining, steel, cement, and port applications — from crushing and screening circuits through conveying, storage, and loading — alongside the utility and piping packages that keep a plant running. All mechanical designs are backed by 3D modelling and power calculations before a single drawing is issued for construction.
Civil & Structural Engineering
Our civil and structural team follows a consistent, verifiable seven-step process on every job — from first layout through to manufacturing-ready fabrication drawings — using Staad Pro, Tekla, and Plant 3D. This process has been proven on structures including a 600 MT stockpile, a 750 MT process building, and 3D structural modelling of a full blast furnace.
Electrical Engineering (Power Systems)
FTS delivers power systems engineering across the full voltage spectrum, including a 230 kV substation for AISCO in Angola — covering power transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and control infrastructure. Our scope spans switchyard engineering, cable design, and plant illumination.
Instrumentation & Automation
Our instrumentation and automation engineers translate process requirements into functioning control architecture — from P&ID preparation through instrument selection and loop diagrams, to automation system configuration and functional descriptions. This work underpins the automation integration delivered on projects such as NMDC Donimalai's 1.2 MTPA pellet plant.
Bulk Material Handling Systems (BMHS)
Material handling is where FTS Group's roots run deepest. We have engineered raw material handling for iron ore, coal, alumina, and cement across some of India's largest sites — including JSW Vijaynagar's 7 MTPA system and AMNSI Hazira's high-capacity conveyors, junction houses, and crusher house — plus the 930-metre, 7,500 ton/hr port yard system at AMNSI.
Equipment Development & Supply
Under our Make in India R&D programme, FTS designs, manufactures, and commissions special equipment that historically had to be imported — led by the Centrifugal Casting Machine (CCM), the first of its kind designed and commissioned in India for DI pipe manufacturing. This pillar covers development, design, manufacturing, procurement, and supply of critical equipment end-to-end.
Project Management Services
FTS provides project management consulting (PMC) that keeps engineering, procurement, and construction accountable to a single schedule. Our site teams have supervised construction and commissioning at Nagpur (PRIL), the blast furnace at PMCL, and BRM in Bangladesh — covering civil and structural construction supervision through hot trial and performance verification.
Engineering & Procurement Services
Beyond core engineering, FTS provides vendor-neutral procurement support and specialist consultancy services — technical bid evaluation, industrial BIM, plant debottlenecking and retrofitting, and 3D scanning & reverse engineering for brownfield sites where drawings no longer exist.

From Pre-Bid Study to Hot Trial — One Team, Five Stages
Bulk materials handling is a founding strength of FTS Group. We run the full BMHS lifecycle in-house — pre-bid engineering, basic & detail engineering, procurement & supply, site supervision, and specialised equipment design — proven on projects such as JSW Vijaynagar's 7 MTPA iron ore system and NMCPL's 1.6 MTPA beneficiation plant with 16 conveyors.
Pre-Bid Engineering
System study & analysis, preliminary process flow diagrams, and tentative BOQ & cost estimation — giving clients a credible basis to bid or budget before committing to detail engineering.
Basic & Detail Engineering
Process flow diagrams, plant layout & sectional drawings, conveyor system design (power, drive, pulley, belt & shaft sizing, skidding analysis), FEM analysis for optimisation, 3D modelling in SolidWorks and Inventor, and PTCS/PTS systems.
Procurement & Supply
Equipment and component procurement assistance, inspection & testing services, complete equipment supply, and quality assurance from vendor selection through delivery.
Site Supervision
On-site equipment installation, cold testing procedures, hot trial operations, complete commissioning, and performance verification before handover.
